Terms of Service

By using Jackie's List ("the App"), you agree to the following terms.

1. About the Service

Jackie's List is a free, open-source shopping list app. There are no ads, subscriptions, or hidden costs. Donations via Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary and do not unlock additional features.

2. Your Account

You may use Jackie's List as a guest or sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from compromised Google credentials.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
• Reverse-engineer the backend services for malicious purposes
• Abuse shared list features to harass or spam other users

4. User Content

You own the content you create (lists, items, recipes, etc.). By using the sync feature, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service.

5. Service Availability

Jackie's List is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, reliability, or data preservation. We recommend keeping your own backups of important information.

6. Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jackie's List and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

7. AI Features Disclaimer

AI-powered features (smart sorting, recipe suggestions, photo identification) use Google's Generative AI services and may produce inaccurate results. AI features are opt-in, require your own API key, and should not be relied upon for dietary or allergy-critical decisions.

8. Donations

Donations are voluntary, non-refundable, and processed by Buy Me a Coffee. Donations do not entitle you to additional features, support, or influence over the App's development.

9. Open Source

Jackie's List source code is available under the terms specified in its repository license. Contributing to the project is subject to the project's contributor guidelines.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
